The skin is the biggest organ in your body which faces the daily ravages of life. It has a lot to put up with and as a consequence you could be left with rough skin, scaly patches, fine lines and wrinkles.
Chemical peel provides a method to peel away the tough outer layer of skin and rejuvenate the face for a fresher younger look.
There are different types of skin peel systems available but Mr Sanjay Azad uses the tried and tested Obagi Blue Skin Peel system®. The Obagi system uses Trichloracetic acid (TCA) as the active ingredient and this is mixed with Blue Base®. This can deal effectively with:
- Epidermal and Dermal Pigmentation problems
- Fine lines, shallow stretchable scars, large pores
- Acne
- Loose skin
This process effectively removes the thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin from the face and other parts of the body. These dead skin cells are replaced by healthier ones, allowing the skin's own clarity and tightness to resurface.
The Obagi Blue Peel procedure takes less than an hour in the outpatient and usually does not require sedation. The Blue Peel is then applied to the face and neck. A mild burning sensation will occur that generally lasts only a few minutes with each coat. A fan is used to minimise this sensation. The bluish tint will be gently washed off with a special cleanser immediately following the Blue Skin Peel.
It is typical to experience light swelling and within two to three days, your skin will begin to peel. This peeling continues over the next several days. By the seventh to tenth day, your skin should be healed.
Once the skin has finished peeling there is a visible improvement in the appearance and this will continue to improve for the next four to six weeks.It will leave your skin and you looking fresh, younger with a smoother skin. To optimize the results it is useful to pretreat the skin with the Obagi Nu-Derm® system and Mr Sanjay Azad will go into details about all these aspects.
