 Mr Sanjay Azad is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon at Selly Oak Hospital Birmingham and at the Queens Hospital Burton.
- He medically qualified from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India with honours in Pathology and Otorhinolaryngology. Thereafter he served in the Indian Navy on ship and ashore establishments as a medical officer. He then went on to do the Masters in General Surgery from the same institution of medical qualification.
- He served with distinction in the Indian Navy as a Naval Surgeon before coming to the UK to pursue higher studies in Plastic Surgery. In the UK, he has worked in plastic surgery at numerous centres including Chelmsford, Durham, Bristol and Birmingham. He has done his specialist registrar training in plastic surgery in the Merseyside rotation.
- His subspecialty training was in Manchester where he trained for one year doing the prestigious National Oncoplastic Breast Fellowship. This fellowship is an interface between breast cancer work and breast reconstruction.
- He has also trained in cosmetic surgery and has done the Mersey-Manchester Cosmetic Fellowship.
- Mr Sanjay Azad has an academic background and has authored a textbook in surgery and more than fifty papers in national and international journals. He is fully accredited and on the GMC specialist register.
