- Breasts are rarely symmetrical and the differences in both sides can get accentuated after breast reconstruction.
- The opposite normal breast will frequently benefit from a breast lift or breast reduction with or without liposuction to match up to the reconstructed side. This is obviously a personal choice but it does make a considerable difference in daily activities, self confidence and ease of bra wear.
- The reconstructed breast will benefit from nipple reconstruction and tattooing. Occasionally it may also require liposuction, fat transfer, scar revision among others.
- The end results are excellent but can take upto 2 years to achieve.
